The Chandlery has been proudly serving the boating community for over 40 years and has grown to be one of the largest marine stores in Canada. Rigger

Either a part time position or full time combined with another position at the store.

Reports to Sales Manager

Compensation: hourly wage or annual salary commensurate with experience and industry standards, including three weeks paid vacation and statutory holidays.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform roller swaging, nicopress swages to create standing rigging, lifelines, and architectural rigging.
  • Perform rope splicing to create custom running rigging, anchor, dock, and fender lines, mooring pennants, and other non marine applications.
  • Assist customers in store with their rigging questions.
  • Provide high quality customer service.

Qualifications:
  • Ability to properly perform roller swages and nicopress swages to accurately create standing rigging, lifelines, and architectural rigging.
  • Ability to properly perform rope splices including eye splices in double braid, core dependant, twelve strand, and three strand line; rope to chain splices in three strand and eight plait line; end to end splices; and end whippings.
  • Ability to work some evenings and Saturdays as required.

Please note: Training is available for interested applicants who have some degree of qualification and who wish to further develop their rigging skills.
