Sales Manager

Full Time Permanent Position

Reports to store owner

Compensation: annual salary commensurate with experience and industry standards, including three weeks paid vacation and statutory holidays.


Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and develop a team of permanent and seasonal employees.
  • Participate in the recruitment, hiring, training, and ongoing performance management of staff.
  • Develop and manage the staff schedule.
  • Ensure phones are being answered during business hours, and that emails, voicemails, and other inquiries are responded to in a timely matter.
  • Ensure that the store is kept neat and clean, and that products are properly displayed.
  • Participate in and manage staff's involvement in store opening and closing duties.
  • Participate in regular management meetings to ensure the smooth functioning of the business.
  • Report problems and complaints to store owner.

Qualifications:
  • Three to five years experience working in a sales or managerial role.
  • Strong boating knowledge including sailboat hardware and rigging; marine electrical, engine, and plumbing systems; marine electronics; docking and mooring; boat repair and maintenance.
  • Ability to work a regular full-time schedule that will include some evenings and Saturdays as required.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Good customer service skills.
